1Ryan Manning, a partner in Newmeyer & Dillion LLP’s Newport Beach office, has been named to the board of directors at Friends for Fragile X, a Coto de Caza nonprofit that raises awareness and funding to find a cure for Fragile X syndrome, a family of genetic conditions related to mental impairment and autism. Friends for Fragile X is creating a large network of “friends” searching for a cure for the genetic disorder, which affects one in 130 females and one in 250 males. It can cause mental impairment ranging from learning disabilities to more severe cognitive or intellectual disabilities and is the most common known cause of autism.
Manning, who specializes in construction, real estate, business and insurance coverage disputes for Newmeyer & Dillion, was formerly a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a senior prosecutor in the busiest trial section in the Department of Defense, he prosecuted more than 220 accused for a variety of crimes and litigated nearly 10 cases to verdict, winning favorable judgments.

Archer Norris announced today top-tier litigator Elizabeth V. McNulty has joined the firm as partner, resident in its Newport Beach office. McNulty, formerly a partner at Hewitt Wolensky & McNulty, focuses her practice on product liability and commercial litigation, including employment law matters, and environmental and regulatory litigation and advice. Also joining the firm and expanding its presence in Southern California are associates Patrick R. Ball and Miguel P. Prietto, Jr. “The region’s thriving business community drives the need for continued expansion in Orange County,” said Managing Partner Gene Blackard. “Liz McNulty, along with Patrick Ball and Miguel Prietto, raises the profile of our Newport Beach office as a power player in the legal marketplace.”

Their recognition to the list of “Top Women Attorneys” in Southern California was based on their inclusion in Super Lawyers as some of the highest-ranked women lawyers practicing in the Southern California area. The Super Lawyers list is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement and is only given to less than five percent of practicing attorneys in Southern California.
